Words and the phone

The words are just flowing from Mia's mouth! She can say ball, dah for dog, Mom, Dad, and quite a few others that I can't think of at this moment. Her receptive language is amazing! When you tell her to do something, or go get something, she does it. She loves to sing, too. A favorite song of hers is the Barney song "I love you, you love me, we're a happy family, with a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, won't you say you love me too." When the kiss part comes, she leans over to kiss me. And when I start singing the song, she starts singing along with me. It's so sweet!

Tonight Sarah was practicing saying our home phone number, then we decided to call people on the phone. She dialed GJ's house all by herself, and when GJ answered, she talked for quite a while. After that, she called Kylee, and climbed under the kitchen table to talk to her. I was chuckling inside, as I was envisioning the future in about 10 years....lots of phone talking, just like her mama did. When I was her age, I talked on the phone all the time. I always had a phone in my ear.

Yesterday we booked the girls' fifth birthday party at Build a Bear in Downtown Disney. The girls are over the moon excited about it! Their party will be the day before their real birthday. It should be loads of fun!

Uuuuu Uuuuuu

Mia's main mode of communication is... Uuuuuu uuuuuuu uuuuuuu uuuu uu uuuuu uuuuuuuuu. All. Day. Long. And she doesn't stop until she gets what she wants. If she doesn't get what she wants, she tantrums really well by throwing herself on the floor and banging her head on the ground while screaming! Despite this, we are really enjoying her. She is a hilarious little kid, especially for being only 14 months old! She started saying "ball" a couple of weeks ago, and today said "dog." She loves to dance to any type of music, but especially loves the Backyardigans theme song. She is such a great kid!
